Hello, I would like to know if you know what is Celiac Disease? Thus this can lead to infertility problems too?

Sarah - July 6th, 2010 4:16 AM

Celiac disease is actually a disease that damages the small intestines which also interferes the absorption of nutrients from foods.

May I know what's its connection or how can this certain disease leads to infertility problems?

Geraldine - July 10th, 2010 1:26 AM

Celiac disease is a disorder that causes problems in the intestines due to gluten. Gluten damages the intestines and it keeps your bodies from taking in many of the nutrients in the food you eat. I think it has connection with infertility because once you have this kind of disease, you are weak enough even to conceive.

It may be, there is a connection because the person who have these kind of disease can not be able to conceive a healthy baby may not be able to conceive because of malnourished.

isnt this a reaction to wheat? so how does it contribute to infertility? aren't there supplements to boost up immune system?

.:Marie:. - July 15th, 2010 3:33 AM

this is probably because you have a weak immune system. because you are inefficient in absorbing nutrients. there are a lot of wheat alternatives and people who are allergic to gluten are coping well enough, so getting healthy again should not be an issue.

there are lots of ways of coping with an allergy and the best way is through avoidance. Avoid wheat and food with wheat and gluten and your immune system should be up and running in no time.

celiac disease can be managed effectively with proper diet. you just need to stay away from gluten and wheat and there are a lot of foods that you can still eat and become properly nourished.

I have a gluten free cookbook which I bought online. Staying away from gluten is easy enough.

My dad had IBS and it is somewhat related to Celiac disease. He has been eating gluten free meals for more than 20 years.
