if you have chronic pelvic pain, does it mean you are infertile?

Michael_ArchAngel - October 25th, 2010 3:58 AM

not really. you need to check why you have pain. it can be endometriosis or PID.

Kellysmith - October 26th, 2010 2:33 AM

Yes, not all pelvic pain is a sign of having infertility problem. There's many other causes of it and that's what you are going to consult the doctor or have some test to know more of its causes.

SuperMom - October 26th, 2010 3:31 AM

Maybe its a very bad cramp. I remember when I was in my teens, my cramps were really bad. But when I started exercising, the pain lessened and my tolerance for pain increased.

If you have endometriosis or PID then yes, it could mean infertility issues.

Jr. - October 28th, 2010 3:44 AM

wow, if its endometriosis or PID you better get checked. PID is an STD and endometriosis can be very painful.

josephc57 - October 29th, 2010 3:26 AM

to JR:

What are symptoms of PID and endometriosis aside from the pain?

here are the symptoms for pid:
* Pain in your lower abdomen and pelvis
* Heavy vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odor
* Irregular menstrual bleeding
* Pain during intercourse
* Low back pain
* Fever, fatigue, diarrhea or vomiting

the symptoms for endometriosis
* Very painful menstrual cramps
* Pain with periods that gets worse over time
* Chronic pain in the lower back and pelvis
* Pain during or after sex
* Intestinal pain
* Painful bowel movements or painful urination during menstrual periods
* Heavy and/or long menstrual periods
* Spotting or bleeding between periods

Maybe you broke a hip and didn't even know about it. Is this something you've already considerd? :D
p.s. I know it is farfetched!

lewisabigail16 - January 27th, 2011 6:48 PM

no it doesn't. it can be a lot of things. just because you have pelvic pain, doesn't mean that you're already infertile.
