The most common would be diminished ovarian reserves. Simply, the ovaries do not release egg cells anymore. Usually this is due to age.

Stella is right. Age is one of the contributing factors of having a higher risk in infertility in women especially when a woman reach 35 years of age or older.

There is also a speculation that too much exposure to certain environmental toxins may cause infertility in women, but the relationship has not been proven yet.

A woman could have a higher risk of having infertility problem if at a very young age, she's already practicing bad and unhealthy lifestyles such as smoking, drinking alcoholic drinks and taking prohibited drugs.
