why is cervical mucus important?

because it protects the sperm from the acidic environment of the vagina. in addition it helps the sperm travel to the fallopian tubes and to the uterus to find the egg.

this is why it is important to ensure that our cervical mucus is not hostile to our partner's sperm.

Agree. This is why it always pays to look at and observe your mucus. you can do this by wiping some on your toilet paper before urinating, checking for discharge in your undies or sticking a clean finger in your vagina.

The vagina can have a very high PH level and can be very acidic. this is not good for sperm as it can kill them. This is why there are millions of sperm because a lot of them actually die before they can even enter the womb.

"because it protects the sperm from the acidic environment of the vagina. in addition it helps the sperm travel to the fallopian tubes and to the uterus to find the egg"

this actually makes the cervical mucus very important and it is usually overlooked when checking for fertility.

good info. cervical mucus is a good benchmark for ovulation. it is easy to do and observe plus its non invasive or chemical based which is another bonus.

Cervical mucus makes it easy for the sperm to find the cervix. This actually guides their path.
