If you have premature ovarian failure, is it the end of the line in terms of having a baby or is it still reversible?

babyLOVE - September 19th, 2010 5:40 PM

It can be treated by restoring estrogen levels in the bloodstream. Im not entirely sure if it is reversible, but not all woen with premature ovarian failure are infertile.

Nope, it's not the end of the line yet. It can still be treated but the process of treating it is really quite long. But just be patience.

Most common treatment for POF is fertility drugs or horomone replacement therapy. Also, most women with POF are usually in their premenopausal stage.

Yeah, it's not the end of the line because there are still medication to have it treated. All you need to do is to have it ask with the expert.

Well, I think it's the end of the line already because since you have it already, it's impossible for you to get pregnant because you will always experience irregular menstruation.

Yeah, though a woman with ovarian failure experience irrigular menstruation, pregnancy is still possible especially, if she consulted the experts for a certain treatments as early as possible.

so there is still a chance?? this is good to know as there are a lot of women (including me) who are in their late 30's and are still childless.
