how long are you ttc before you are classified as having infertility problems?

You have to be trying to get pregnant without contraceptives for a year before you are classified as having infertility problems.

we were ttc for 16 months before we went to a specialist and confirmed that we are having fertility issues.

jon is right. couples are classified as having fertility problems after 1 year of not using contraceptives. you are then referred to a specialist where you will be given alternatives for treatments.

it was longer for us, almost 2 years before we went to seek treatment. however, we did try natural ways of getting pregnant first like charting, bbt, ovulation kits and the like.

We went six months after and were told to come back after another 6 months of trying naturally :(
