A recent study presented at the American Society of Reproductive Medicine may cause some men to watch how much they talk on cell phones. Using their cell phones endlessly, may have some affect on their sperm. The study, done by researchers at the Cleveland Clinic, evaluated 361 men and found the more they chatted on the cell phone, the bigger the impact on their fertility. If brain cancer wasn't bad enough, it seems that cell phone use may also contribute to an increase in male infertility, which could be a huge problem if you're trying to conceive. According to a 2008 observational study by the Reproductive Research Center, use of cell phones has been shown to decrease the semen quality in men by decreasing the sperm count, motility, viability, and normal morphology. The decrease in sperm parameters was dependent on the duration of daily exposure to cell phones and independent of the initial semen quality. |
