i want to have idea on the thermometer... how to use, it's importance and if there are different kinds on it?

coolMOMMY - April 19th, 2011 1:47 PM

This basal body thermometer is used to tracking your basal body temperature that refers to the body’s exact temperature at the lowest point of the day. And will likely to occur in the morning, just after you wake up, and before you begin your day.

Ideally, you would use your basal body thermometer even before you get out of bed in the morning. Many women who are tracking their basal body temperature will keep their basal body thermometer next to their bed on a night stand or end table.

There are different sorts of basal body thermometers. The most important thing about a basal body thermometer is its accuracy.

Van28 - April 19th, 2011 2:09 PM

why should this thermometer be accurate? is there any disadvantages if it isn't?

Diane - April 19th, 2011 2:16 PM

It needs to be accurate because the changes that take place to a woman’s basal body temperature throughout her monthly cycle will range from about four tenths of a degree to six tenths of a degree Fahrenheit. All basal body thermometers really need this level of accuracy.

I dont' have any idea yet on this..Is this bb thermoter a mercury thermometer?

sharon - April 19th, 2011 2:33 PM

There are basal body thermometers that are mercury-based, just like many other sorts of thermometers. However there are basal body thermometers that are digital as well.

This vary also in how used. There are basal body thermometers that are used orally which is placed under the tongue for a certain amount of time. There are also basal body thermometers that are used rectally, that are inserted into the rectum in order to get the basal body temperature.

well for me, i prefer oral basal body thermometers coz it's easier to use.
