what is depo provera?

sharon - April 14th, 2011 10:21 AM

this explains, that the contraceptive effects of your last hormone injection will last up to 12 weeks, after this it can take between 3 and 6 months for your body to regain its natural equilibrium and your level of fertility to return to normal, however it can take longer than this for some women.

to Ella_Mae,

Depo provera is a kind of contraceptive pill. For this reason it is recommended that you use an alternative form of contraception until you begin to experience regular periods again.

@Ella_Mae: Sweetie this is a very common contraceptive method for women since I can remember. Where have you been? It is a drug that is injected into the butt or thigh. The effect is a bit long-lasting, with effectivity up to 3 months. Women not wanting to get pregnant are injected this drug up to 4 times a year. I think this is also a variation of what they originally call the Depo Shot.
