In some infertility cases there is no reason given as to why both partners are unable to conceive.

If this happened to you would you consider going to another doctor?

You can get as many opinions as you want.

I have heard of couples who tried everything and were not given reasons as to why they were unable to get pregnant.

In my case, I would want a reason. At least I would have closure.

In some cases it is just unexplained. It is sad.

And IMO, second and third opinions are a must in infertility cases.

There are just some instances wherein there is no rhyme or reason for the events that happen in our life. I guess this is one of them. There are other options like adoption or looking for a surrogate mom. Or, you can try to live childless.

I agree with Gizelle. It's hard to have closure if there is no real reason. I would want to have a specific reason as to why I cant have kids.

Yes, of course. If couples can't conceive, then there must be a reason behind it. If a doctor can't tell which of you has infertility problems, then better refer it to another doctor for a 2nd opinion.

There should always be a reason behind it..think you need to refer it to the other Doctors to make sure.

there are already many techniques and technology used to treat infertility, so there's no reason to unable to conceive, why not try to consult a doctor
