a stranger who acts as a surrogate can charge between $13,000 and $25,000. and this is just the fee for the surrogate. other expenses like maternity clothes, medicine, check-ups, labor and birth expenses, ivf etc are borne by the couple. if the surrogate is carrying multiples then she may charge more $$. |

if this is the cost or thereabouts then surrogacy is not an option for us. this is for very loaded people only! it would be cheaper to adopt. |

With the hard times in the US, i heard that there are more women who are volunteering to be surrogate mothers to supplement their income. |

Surrogacy is out for us too. IVF and fertility treatments are already draining our saving despite our infertility insurance and tax deductions. |

I'm out for surrogacy as an option too. I think adoption is much better. |

That expensive! But maybe if you get a young surrogate then it would cost less since you only need to do IVF or AI and maybe do it in just 1 or two cycles... That is my theory anyway. |

$13,000 - $25,000! Wow... this is a good way to make money on the surrogate's part. |

Alright thanks for the information! In countries where medical treatment is free, such as Canada, is this included? |
|

wow, that's an extremely scary price to pay! I think I'd stick with adoption than getting a surrogate |

well, surrogacy cost is expensive but hey! it's worth to the price as well :) |
