I heard of some cases wherein men were givne clomephine - Clomid - to help with sperm production and motility. This is not widespread because it is not regulated by the FDA. Would you guys try this to have a baby?

Nope. Self-medication is bad and dangerous to health. That is not like an ordinary OTC drug such as aspirin or cold tablets where anyone can take it without prescription.

Besides, if that were suggested by a duly licensed medical practitioner when its not recommended by the FDA, that is grounds for having the latter's license revoked for malpractice.

Most studies show that the same drugs used to treat women is also effective for men but not as much. It has been found out that the success rate is only a third that in men compared to women.

Clomephine, and others such as hCG and hMG, can be used to treat men. The few studies being done on this mostly agree that drugs can help only men with specific hormonal imbalances.

And even if it is not FDA approved to be used for men, specialists can actually prescribe it. It's legal.
