I use digital too. I am pretty hopeless with the mercury one anyway! |

Yes, it's much more effective and very accurate to use. I'm done with the old mercury one..I'm glad there is a new digital thermometer. |
They still sell those types of thermometers? Seriously? |
LOL... |

The mercury ones are still quite common. But you have to wait for several minutes to get a reading. The digital ones are better anyway. |

mercury thermometers also tend to "go to sleep" when they are not used often. For accuracy's sake use a digital one. they arent so expensive anymore and they are more reliable. just make sure that the batteries are always fresh. |

Yes, aside that the digital thermometer gives accurate info, it is also much safer to use..Before, I used to have mercury thermometer, but as soon as I've heard that it's not safe to use, I shift to digital already. |

LOL... I didnt know that there are still those who use the mercury ones... |

LOL... yeah they still make the mercury ones... I checked! hahahahaha |

Lots of mercury thermometers still in use today in what we would call 3rd world countries. Mercury-based thermometers are cheap. While digital ones are available, it is still very expensive there. |

mercury thermometers are still available. maybe they just made too much of them. although digital thermometers are more accurate, some still prefer the old-school thermometers |
