it depends on how bad your pain is and what your parenthood plans are. in some cases hormone therapy is prescribed and in extreme cases wherein the pain is really unbearable then a hysterectomy can be performed. these are usually under management and not really cures for endometriosis. |

a hysterectomy? that sounds harsh. if the woman were to undergo this sort of operation, then it would be the end of her child birthing years. |

its only for rare cases. like cherry said alternatives like hormone therapy can be prescrbed. i think people with extreme endometriosis pan are rare though. |

the side effects of the hormone therapy are acne, mood swings, headaches and even lower back pain. I had to undergo hormone therapy because of my irregular periods. just an fyi on side effects. |

i would rather have the moodswings, acne and etc rather than have my entire uterus taken out... :( |
