i think this is because there is a deposit of sperm already present. depending on a woman's age egg can only live around 24 hours in the uterus. this gets shorter as she ages. |

I like your theory Kenji. Since the sperm is now there, all it has to do is to fertilize the egg. |

Won't the sperms die sooner than is necessary for it to reach the ovulation day in this case? What is the life span of the sperms while in a woman, has anybody check this out? I really think it doesn't work that way. |

Sperm live up to 5 days but the egg can only live between 12-24 hours. It is imprtant to get as much sperm inside the cervix as possible so that the egg can be fertilized right away. |
