Anyway, the only way for it to be detected is through PAP smear test or An HPV DNA test. The latter test is more like a preventive type.
Most of the cases of cervical dysplasia are among women from ages 25 to 35. It can develop at any age, nonetheless.
Almost all the cases are caused by Human Papilloma Virus or HPV for short. HPV is common and can be acquired through sexual contact. Not all types of HPV lead to cervical dysplasia or cancer.
The following are a few reasons in increasing risk of cervical dysplasia:
* Smoking
* Giving birth before the of age 16
* Sexually active before 18 years old
* Multiple sexual partners
* Use of medications that suppress the immune system
