is there a cost to adopt a baby/child? I mean do you have to spend money to adopt? Like a fee?

RamsesIII - September 17th, 2010 2:01 PM

Yes! there is also a cost to adopting. You have to pay the agency also you have to pay to process the papers. Im not sure but I heard that it can cost up to $10K!

WTH!!! that much! wow... its almost as expensive as a cycle of IVF!

but this time you get a kid so its more cost effective =)

Yes, definitely! You can also spend money in adopting a child. Nothing is for free these days, you know.hehe

NadineChoo - September 18th, 2010 2:13 AM

and I thought adoption was FREE....

With that much money, are you sure they dont buy the babies or something???

Georgie - September 18th, 2010 1:23 PM

I think the money is more on spending about paper documents or something on legal adoption process.

lycah - September 18th, 2010 1:26 PM

Probably, it will be on the legal adoption papers and other the needed things spent for the money. It's not that every child or baby has it's corresponding prize, right?

I knew there was a cost I just never expected it to be that high! What about if you adopt from China? Does it cost more/less?

Guinevere - September 19th, 2010 5:49 PM

It depends if you are using a private or public agency. If public anywhere from $0 - $2500. If private be prepared to shell out $5000 to $35000!!!

Yes, I think so..nothing is for free now a days.

Dionne&Dylan - October 11th, 2010 3:56 AM

No such thing as free. Even with local agencies you are still expected to pony up a certain amount! If your baby came from China or some place else, it would cost even more.

Wow... that expensive? how about if you adopt from overseas?

It's gonna be more expensive right and harder, I expect.
