What are the advantages of having fertility insurance? What are the treatments covered by it?

Depends on your insurance company. I use AETNA and they cover part of the bills for my IUI and IVF treatment.

Well,I think the advantages of having infertility treatment insurance is that it can help the couples make all the finance of the treatment possible. But it is still depends on what the insurance you are having can covered. I think there are still limitations to it.

Insurance was and still is a big help in our fertility treatments. Even though they dont shoulder the full cost of the treatment, their contribution enables couples like us to continue with the treatment without breaking the bank.

We have fertility insurance and it is quite convenient and very helpful. Not all procedures are covered but at least you coverage on the real expensive treatments.

Also, IVF and other fertility treatments can be tax deductible. Check out the IRS website to see which procedures qualify. This way you can save even more $$.

But is there really an assurance that they will cover the things they promised to pay? Pardon me if I'm wrong, but there are some insurance company that are just good in making promises and in collecting money from their clients but when the time of payments, they are very not worthy of the pay Kind of frustrating..

You probably dont have a good insurance company. And it should not be a promise to pay, it is an obligation on their part but you also have to pay your premiums regularly.

We have had no problems with Cigna. They are a big insurance company recognized globally. They pay for our infertility medication, tests as well as IVF. We have pay part of it, but the bulk is borne by the insurance co.

Insurance is like a safety net. Most of the time it does nothing. However, it really helps when you need it.

Infertility treatments are expensive. Even clomid is expensive! This is a good reason why you should get your insurance to cover infertility treatments. You'll never know when you might need it.
