Does success in fertility treatment matter if the eggs/sperm/embryo were fresh or frozen?

I personally dont think it matters if it is fresh or frozen. However with frozen you have to be careful with the thawing as the chemicals used can have effects on the reproductive cells.

There is actually a study published in Spain that frozen eggs are as good as fresh ones when used in IVF.

According to the Cryobiology Unit at Institut Universitari, IVI, in Valencia in Spain, "embryos derived from frozen eggs are just as likely to develop into an ongoing pregnancy than those derived from fresh eggs."

Yes, I think there is and frozen eggs are much better than fresh because it's been find out through a certain study that it can give a better result and the success rates are much higher than the fresh ones.

For me, the success rates are with the donated fresh eggs and lowest rates are when the woman uses her own frozen eggs. But well, frozen eggs is less expensive than fresh ones.

good to know that it does not matter. i am looking into freezing some eggs for future use.

I think if you really want good quality, and successful results, fresh eggs is best than the frozen ones..that's just based on my opinion.

This is good since we are considering freezing some sperm and egg for future use as my partner wants to take a short break from the whole fertilty treatment.

Me too. This is just forward thinking for us. Sometimes infertility treatments are really hard on the female body. At least with some eggs frozen, you are able to take a break for a while.
