can ivf be used as a tax deduction?

Sonja - September 17th, 2010 3:28 PM

I will have to check the IRS for this but yes. All medical expenses can be tax deductible but there are some provisions that I am not sure of so that is something you need to check.

I think so..but not all like sonja said that will be tax deductible.

yes they are! if you are in the US, check out the irs website or you can follow the link directly. it tells you what is deductible and what is not. you can save lots of money come tax season!

irs(dot)gov(slash)publications(
slash)p502(slash)index(dot)html

check
out the link for fertility enhancement =)

Your fertility treatment and meds need to be over $3000 (not sure on the amt) to qualify for tax deduction.

But since IVF treatments are way expensive, then you can claim them as tax deductions come tax season! =)

This is good news! So ladies and gents, save all your receipts and get them deducted during tax season!

Yes! they are tax deductible ladies but chloee88 is right and it has to be over a certain amount before you are eligible for your deductions. Also other medical bills can also be tax deductible, so check your tax schedules for the details.
