Can fertility medication (clomid etc) give women water retention?\

This is my 4th cycle on a higher dose and I feel bloated all the time.

Yes. My chief complaint with fertility medicine is that it makes you "feel pregnant".

Perhaps it would also help lessen your feeling of being bloated if you lay off foods with high salt content.

In my study about fertilization, it begins with the penetration of the sperm head into the egg. So it is better that in fertility medication, it is needed that the woman's water must be retained in the scene.

Dont worry Gizelle it is perfectly normal. At least now you can practice because I hear that pregnant women feel bloated all the time. :D

Good Luck!

This is just one of the side effects I experienced too. I also had headaches and was frequently dizzy. I was told that it can take weeks for the side effects to subside.

yes... among other things.

Water retention is "tame" compared to migraines, headaches and vomiting.

I had these when they increased my dosage to a higher mg.

Clomid stimulates the ovaries which can lead to water retention. I'm afraid that it is one of its side effects. I would suggest lowering the dose but since your doc increased it, then perhaps you just have to bear with it a little longer.

When I was on Serophene my hair fell off! I thought I was going bald!
